Part 7 – Tick Tock
Finally, something to post about…kind of.
In terms of the initial upgrades/mods I plan to do with the camper, I have received all the parts ready to go with the last thing arriving yesterday which was our motorised jockey wheel. I decided that one would be a good idea seeing as the camper is a tight fit in our garage, so manoeuvring it by hand might be too hard and I don’t want to damage the walls. So having something that push the trailer into position makes sense. Our current camper, while being much smaller and lighter is a pain to get into the right spot as well.
Check out this video for a quick unboxing.

Give me my parcel back punk!!!
On receiving deliveries, yesterday we had something interesting happen. I wasn’t home as we where getting the rear shocks and from struts replaced on the Pajero. While I was waiting for them to be completed I got a notification on my phone from my Ring door bell. I opened it up to see a young girl stealing something that the postie had dropped off earlier that day. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, now the item wasn’t an expensive item, so while very angry about it, we are not out of pocket much.
I have reported the theft to the police and posted photos and video of the punk all over social media. Turns out she and her accomplice have been doing the same to other people in the neighbourhood and they also have video and thankfully a licensed plate of the car. So we might see our parcel again, not sure.
Anyway, this post isn’t about thieving punks. Later that day I received notification that another parcel was onboard for delivery. I still wasn’t home, so I panicked a little. This time it was something expensive as it was my Motorised Jockey Wheel. I had been on the phone to my neighbour (who works for AusPost BTW) to tell them to keep an eye for these girls. The courier arrived and through my Ring Door Bell, I was able to get him to take it to my neighbours and they signed for it. Much happier about that.
I have now gone back to using AusPosts Parcel Lockers. While not as convenient, it is safer and not too far away. Basically it’s like a PO Box, but you don’t rent it. They put your parcels in it and send you a code. You can rock up any time of the day and using your code, access your parcel. I stopped using it because I was working from home more, but of late I have been working away from home a lot. It’s really annoying that one punk girl can make you untrusting of the neighbourhood. Most of my neighbours are great and everyone is keeping an eye for each other.

Back to the trailer.
I contacted AusTrack last week and they are still on track for late August/early September. It looks like their manufacturing department was able to continue during the lockdown, which is good news. I just want to go camping again.
I have two trips coming up (as long we are out of lockdown). The first one is a guys weekend away at another Hipcamp property. This one has 4WD tracks as well. Can’t wait and I corralled a bunch of mates to come. Going to be a great weekend.
The following Friday I am doing my first solo camp, just for one night. Alison was supposed to go a conference on the GC, but unfortunately it’s been postponed, but I still intend to go away with Sabre. I purchased a Kings Swag as I just wanted to keep it simple. Not sure how I will go, but I am looking forward to it.
There is not much to do for now, I really want the camper to arrive so I can get started on working on it. Tinkering on this stuff has really become a passion of mine.
